'MONSTER MUNCH' - Classic design re-launch

First of all for those that have been visiting The Cobwebbed Room, I am really sorry for the lack of posts lately, I was off the internet for about 3 weeks due to a change of modem that wouldn't let me on the net, anyway its ok now. So hopefully I will try and start to get more regular posts up here now. Please continue to visit this cobwebbed strewn room.

I have been meaning to put this post up since last year when the new re-launched Monster Munch classic designs first came out. I think it was a wise move getting rid of those awful boring designs of the more modern Monster Munch range, and I am sure you will agree that the old designs are much more pleasing. Some of the differences between the new and old packs is now the new packs are bigger hence the 'Mega' above Monster Munch and the flavor Flamin Hot. As well as the 3 new packs that you see here, the 3 Monster Munch toys were available free from a number of shops after buying 3 packs of Monster Munch, 3 packs for each toy. These are about 2 inches tall.

There aren't enough freebies with food any more. I used to get my Mum to buy cereals as a kid depending on what plastic junk premiums were being given away.
Please check out my new blog http://apatchworkofflesh.blogspot.com/ it is a Frankenstein Monster art project. As Monster fans, please send me a card yourselves. Details of how to get involved at the blog.

Hi Coop
I totally agree there just isn't enough freebies with food anymore, I too used to buy certain foods if they contained a nice freebie. It seems to be this day and age when companies or whoever seem to stop all this sort of thing. There even isn't the variety and fun sweets that there used to be for kids. Its all this health and safety bylines.

Just checked out your blog and I really like it and it is such a great idea. Its so great to see all these wonderful interpretations of Frankenstein's Monster. I'll have to get round to sending you one or two, I'll certainly keep checking back.

'Monster Munch's packaging decline began well before Walkers took over. Their Halcyon days were in the early eighties with "Monster Facts" at the back of the packets, Grendel sticking in my mind for some reason - plus they used to have a rich, bloody tomato sauce flavour (blue monster's original)
Then, towards the Walkers reign, the same monster-eyes, monster-claws and mouths were printed on the back.

Thanks for this Gavin, I think I remember the 'Monster Facts' on the back of the packs. Not sure if I tried the Bloody tomatoe sauce flavour, I think I do remember them though. Did try the ones which made your tongue blue, they were quite good fun.

I thought I'd send you a picture after reading about all the Monster Much stuff on your blog. It's a soft toy monster I got from (I think) collecting tokens from the packs. I wonder how many monter toys are still out there...
