'HORROR ERASERS'
Its quite amazing how many different sort of novelty erasers you could buy back in the 70's and 80's, remember the fruity smelling ones? Even though these erasers never really worked very well at rubbing out pencil, they were just cool to have. The ones you see pictured here I had almost forgotten about untill I saw these on ebay. Always wondered what the head is supposed to be, I think there were a few different sorts of heads available, one being a Dracula head which is one that I have had for quite some time. I like the hand and foot here too. The artwork on the pack reminds me a little of the Helix Horror stationary range.
Very reminiscent of Helix horror stationery, you're right! The skull encased sharpener from that range was quite good.
ReplyDeleteIf you're wondering about the "30" in the yellow strip to the left of the price ticket I can tell you what that is.
ReplyDeleteI used to work for WHS back in 1986-92 and back then it was still ordinary electric tills, so we had to know what product code to ring the purchase against.
"30" was gneral stationery, all pens were "33" and newspapers and magazines were "43".
Thought you might like this extra bit of trivia!
I still have a purple skull eraser somewhere...
