'HORROR COLOURING BOOK' Pictures

The Horror colouring book I wrote about on the 8th November 2007 features on the cover images of Peter Cushing from Tales from the Crypt, Boris Karloff as Frankenstein's monster, Dracula, Lon Chaney as The Wolfman, a female vampire from Scars of Dracula?, and a scene from House on haunted hill, unfortunatly none of these images appear in the colouring book. I have picked out a few pictures that seemed to be based on images from British horror films, other pictures in the book are either from American horror films or altered pictures from a film, or are made up pictures.

The ones I have included here that are based on British horror films are as follows:

From top to bottom
'Twins of evil' - Victim of Gustav Weil [Cushing] and his men
'The Vampire Lovers' - Ingrid Pitt as Carmilla
'The Skull' - Peter Cushing
'Dr.Phibes' - Vincent Price

What I like about this style of art is the lack of excessive inking because of the intended colouring by the owner of the book.

The fan-favourite comicbook illustrator, Brian Bolland, once referred to the scourge of 'twiddly-noodling' - loads of crosshatching and feathering over the pencil art that can look quite impressive until you realise: 'That arm's really badly drawn" or whatever!

This type of minimalism is really difficult but honest.

Heya, do you have any idea where i can get one of these colouring books?
I had one as a child, but wasn't very good at colouring back then, and i would love to get another if i can.
    Thanks

  4. Hi Suzy
I am sorry but I haven't seen any others since I first bought them myself. I will keep a look out for you in case I do come across any.
    All the best
